Obituary for Teresa Verrilli

God called Teresa peacefully on February 20, 2022, at the age of 89. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Guerino. Cherished by her dear children, Fredina (Jack), Cora (Rob), Danny, and Robert (Sophie). Proud Nonna to Rino (Diana), Daniela, Christina, Liana, Lucas, Gabriela, and Angela. Adoring Bisnonna to Savio and Serafina. She has joined her beloved brothers and sisters in Heaven.

Teresa lost both her parents at a very young age, however she faced life’s challenges with tireless determination and energy.  She was thrilled when she received a proxy wedding proposal from Guerino because she was not only gaining a wonderful husband with whom she would share a life in Canada for more than 60 years, but she also gained a huge family with the Verrilli’s who welcomed her as their own.  Teresa invited everyone who arrived to their home with joy and, of course, lots of food.  She was an amazing cook and baker and was constantly making pizza, ravioli, cookies and cakes from scratch with an unrivalled talent and passion.    Teresa also spent many hours attending to her flower gardens and her natural green thumb grew blooms that burst continuously with colour and size - even during the winter season.  Her biggest passion was her children and grandchildren who she constantly showered with love.  Teresa was a very religious woman who, together with Guerino, dedicated much time to serving St. Roch’s Church and its parishioners. Her devout passion for the Catholic Women’s League was recognized with a 40-year pin awarded in January 2022.  We are heartbroken, but Teresa will continue be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives, and many friends. If so desired, donations in the memory of Teresa may be made to St. Roch’s Church, Lung Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
