Obituary for Filomena Bevilacqua

Filomena (Ventresca) Bevilacqua, was born in Torre dei Nolfi, Abruzzo on July 19, 1936. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and a trusted friend. A seamstress, she was an exceptional woman of character, integrity and courage. She lived her life with sophisticated simplicity and understated elegance that a pure and genuine spirit can only manifest. Authenticity is what made her special. She lived in a state of flow, embracing life's challenges and victories. Her life was rooted in love, compassion and understanding. She was energized by hope and optimism and lived in faith. Filomena was a great teacher. She always told her children to live life with purpose, determination and great humility. She reminded them to make a positive difference and contribute to the well-being of others. A few days before her passing, she stated with clarity and conviction that she was very happy with her life, her family and her journey. She also said that she missed her late husband, Azeglio, who passed away six months ago. They always celebrated the beginning of a new day by cheering with their espresso cups. They did that every morning throughout their 65 years of marriage.

On April 23, she peacefully passed away at the age of 84, leaving a wonderful legacy of a life well-lived. Her final message to the world was, "always love each other and may God bless you! ... Amatevi sempre e che Dio vi benedica!"

She will be forever missed by her children, Emidio (Romilda), Maurizio, Anna (Frank), and Roberto (Nilda). Proud Nonna to Claudia, Valeria, Cristina, (Michael Greco), Isabella, Jean-Paul, Victoria, Sara, Nino, Roberto Jr., and Luca.

Filomena will join her husband, Azeglio, her brothers Americo and Antonio, as well as her parents Enelino and Anna.

She will be held in the hearts of her family, relatives and friends.
