Obituary for Ezio Canzian

Ezio Canzian

May 8, 1936 – November 21, 2022

Beloved husband, Papà/Pop, Nonno, Bisnonno, friend and neighbour, passed peacefully with his children by his side, at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital at 86 years young at heart, from a short illness affecting his heart and respiratory system. He is predeceased by his parents Caterina and Marco and seven siblings.

Ezio was born on May 8, 1936 in Visnà, Italy, as the youngest sibling of a large family. As a young teenager, Ezio met the love of his life - Graziella and they married on September 29, 1956. This past September, Ezio and Graziella celebrated 66 years of marriage. His greatest joy was his family and he excelled at being a loving and caring husband, father, Nonno and Bisnonno.

Ezio was known for his hospitality and his outgoing, friendly personality. He enjoyed the simple things in life, from a home cooked meal, talking about soccer, making wine, celebrating birthdays and special occasions with family, sharing stories, and gardening. He was amazing at striking up conversations with people he just met. He had an ability to make meaningful connections and find ways to make family and friends feel special. Every guest at the Canzian household was made to feel so welcomed. Everyone left with a big hug, smile and an invitation to visit again.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Graziella, daughter Fulvia, son Omero (Patti) and son Gino (Jennifer), by his four grandchildren Alessandro (Rachelle), Liana (Fernando), Jonnie and Joey, and great-grandson Lucas. He will also be missed by many, many good friends.

It is a blessing to have had this incredible man in our lives. He gave us so much love. He shared with us, shaped us, and taught us great lessons. We are richer and happier because we were lucky enough to be part of his family. He is gone in body, but not in spirit. He will forever live in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 28th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fratelli Vescio Funeral Homes, 8101 Weston Rd, Woodbridge, Ontario.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 29th at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Clare of Assisi Church at 150 St Francis Ave, Woodbridge, Ontario.
