God called Elvio peacefully with his family by his side from his home on April 5, 2021 at the age of 82. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Mirella. Cherished by his dear children, Sonia (Jim Garofalo) and Loris. Proud Nonno to Lucas and Jessica. Elvio will always be remembered by his siblings; Lina and Dino.
Elvio left his home in Treviso Italy at the age of 18 and moved to Switzerland to pursue his ambitions as a Tool & Die maker. He worked hard developing his skills and expertise in his trade & was blessed by meeting the love of his life Mirella Smaniotto. They were inseparable and decided to move to Canada to pursue bigger dreams of family & business in 1963.
A devoted Husband, Father & friend he worked hard at building a future for himself & his family. Elvio worked jobs as a General Manager at Donlee Precision for 35 years and then became President of Royal Machine and finally established partnerships with his colleges at PPTG then Vision Automation. An avid outdoorsman who hunted, fished & golfed as he desired. He was a man you wouldn’t mind losing to at the poker table, he always smiled & respected those he chose to spend time with.
He was a proud Grandfather and couldn’t get enough of his grandchildren who were always excited to hear Chukkie was coming over. His words of encouragement were listened to by all and a reference point for our future decisions.
He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends.
If so desired, donations in memory of Elvio may be made to the St. Clare of Assisi.
