To Anna and Lisa, my deepest condolences. I remember the first time I met your father. He was 19 years old and, if memory serves, hehad just come from Italy. He lived on Winnette Avnue with his parents and his older brother, Michele (Zi' Michele) and we would often visit. Then, a few years later, he arrived at our house on Rushton Rd. where I lived with my mother, Anna and father, Benny and my grandparents, Giuseppe and Carmela and my Zio Franco, Zia Maria and cousin, Carmela. But not alone. There was a stunningly beautiful young woman with him -- your mom, Maria. That's how my memory of their relationship begins. Years later, I asked them to be my sponsors in confirmation and they graciously accepted, giving me a wonderful, top-of-line camera as "the sponsor gift" which I used for years after that.

I have only great memories of your father as I do of your late mother. I'm sorry that I was not able to see them more often but life gets complicated for everyone. I will not forget Carmine Petosa -- my 'patino'. He was a good man, one of the last remaining of a truly incredible generation of immigrants who made Canada their home and gave us all the opportunities they never had. God bless him and you. The loss is great but the memories and his legacy are greater.

Our heartfelt condolences to you Lisa, Anthony, Anthony & Olivia. In the short time that we got to know Carmine, we found him to be oh so sweet, dear and humble. Lisa, you've been a tremendous pillar for your dad and provided him so much love, patience and support through the years. Find solace in that he has now been reunited with your mom. Love, the Costantinis
