God called Carmela Fastro (nee Varone) peacefully on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Zefferino. Cherished by her dear children, Antonietta (Tony), Gina (Bruno), and Angelo (Diana). Proud Nonna to Sarah, Christina (Paul), Jeremy, Christian, Gabriel, and Noah. Adoring bisnonna to Nico. Carmela now joins in heaven her beloved siblings Carlo (Antonietta), Maria (late Sabatino), and Pierino (Maria). She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Elvira (late Bruno), Anita (Angelo) and Letizia. She will be held dear in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, and many friends.  If so desired, donations in memory of Carmela may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 6-9 pm and Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. (150 St. Francis Ave., north of Rutherford Rd). A livestream link will be available for you to be a part of Carmela’s funeral mass virtually. Family Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
