Obituary for Benedetto Moscone

Benedetto Moscone 1932-2021
We regret to inform you that our founder Benedetto Moscone died peacefully on January 27th, 2021.
He was born in the small town of Casalvieri Italy, in 1932. During the second world war German soldiers occupied his home and turned the family farm into a staging area for a major World War II battle in nearby Monte Cassino. One night he gathered up the family livestock and stole away into the nearby mountains. For 6 months he hid, braving abhorrent conditions while he successfully kept the family’s possessions out of German hands. He was only 12 years old.

Benny Moscone dreamt about a better life in North America. He came to Canada in 1950. He established his company, Moscone Tile, in 1952. He married the love of his life, Argentina, in 1953. With the same courage and determination demonstrated in the mountains of Italy, Benny Moscone carved out his own Canadian dream. His hard work, perseverance and integrity created a prosperous family business and enriched the lives of his many friends and business acquaintances he touched through-out his life.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Argentina. Cherished by his dear children, Anna, Vince (Marietta), Laura (Frank) and Nina (Anthony). Proud Nonno to Jenna (Jesse), Amanda (Aaron), Benedetto Jr. (Christina), Joseph (Lisa), Austin, David, Pamela, Joanna, and Michelle. Loving great-grandfather to, Robin, Vincent, Zepplyn and Arthur. Benedetto will always be remembered by his brother, Onorio and is reunited in Heaven with his sister, Natalina. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. If so desired, donations in memory of Benedetto may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
