Obituary for Antonio Cavallo

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Antonio Cavallo on May 6th 2022 at the age of 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosa of 54 years, his children Carolina (Sam), Joanna (Anthony), and Vincenzo (Christina), and his grandchildren, Antonia, Filippo, Salvatore, Domenico, Antonio, John Paul and Julian, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Born in Locri, Reggio, Calabria, Antonio made the decision to immigrate to Canada in January of 1954 where he would eventually start his life and begin to build his legacy. Aside from the various successful businesses he built, Antonio was an avid gardener and spent countless hours caring for the array of plants growing in his backyard.

It was a known fact among the family that if Nonno Tony was anywhere in the summer, it was in the backyard with his hands in the soil. If Antonio wasn't tending to his flourishing trees, he was on the sidelines at his grandchildren's sports games cheering them on with his cheeks ear to ear. It was a short fight but a strong one. We would like to thank Dr. Bernard Cummings, Dr. Hachem Nasri, Dr. Katarzyna Czsrnnecka-Kujawa and all the nurses and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital. Family and Friends will be received at Vescio Funeral Home, 8101 Weston Road, on Tuesday May 10th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at St. Roch’s Church, 2889 Islington Ave, North York at 10am. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children. Online Condolences at: www.vesciofuneralhome.com
