God called Placido peacefully on August 8, 2014 at the age of 91. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Concetta who he married 66 years ago. He will be cherished by his dear children Mario (Sara), Enza (Joe Romanino), Liberia (Joe Raimondo), and Filippo (Silvana). Proud grandfather of Connie (Jason Zeppieri), Mirella (Fabrizio Cella), Maria-Linda, Cory (Nadia), Domenico (Elizabeth), Tania (Michael Krstanovic), Gianplacido, Marco Vincent, and Giuseppe Filippo. Loving great grandfather of Emma, Lily, Lauren Grace, Samantha, Madelin, Sebastian, Nicholas, Ava, Liam, Natasha and Tristan. Placido will always be remembered by his brother Nino, and sisters Anna and Nunziatina. He will be held dear in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905 850-3332) on Monday & Tuesday from 4:00 - 9:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (on Jane St., south of Wilson Ave). Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens (on Albion Rd., at Hwy 27). If so desired donations in memory of Placido may be made to the Southlake Hospital - Cardiac Care Unit. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff on the 5th floor Cardiac Care Unit at Southlake Hospital. In addition they like to especially thank Dr. Murray Weingarten for all his care and support.
